Ooh yes we did Friday Night Dinner.
Salvage Hunters. Really wish I had the money and space to buy beautiful old things.
Think this is one the greatest pieces of television ever produced.
For anyone who hasn’t seen it, this isn’t just about OJ, it’s an extraordinary examination of racial politics in the U.S.
It was available on Daily Motion. Did a quick google and still seems to be up.
Still on iPlayer too
I tried to watch Life On Mars, but it was absolutely atrocious.
Rewatch Ed it fairly recently and thought it was still fine.
Still can’t hack Ashes To Ashes though.
Pretty much watched nothing but Deep Space Nine for months
Cutting It. As observed in the Cutting It thread, Cutting It is fantastic.
Never heard of Ed it before, will seek it out
He’s good, not a patch on Gordon the Gopher tho imo tbh tbf
Start Trek TNG. Started but soon stopped because it got really BORING but I’m gonna start again bocos I now have a PDF that explains which are shit and which to watch and it does seem to tally with which ones I thought were good and which were shit.
Stop Trek more like
wait wrong thread
Might watch The Wire
Rlly enjoyed rewatching both lately
Ashes to Ashes gets really dark and strange at points towards the end in a way that surprised me
Watched the most of it at the time but felt like such a slog everytime since when I try to do it after life on Mars
Yeah, it starts off really weak is the problem
The ending is a lot better (in terms of the arc / subtext) than LoM imo - Life on Mars runs a bit with the “oh bureaucracy is so cold and sterile, beating up suspects is no nonsense and justifiable” whereas Ashes is about how Gene died as an idealistic young cop, his views distorted by the heroic character type of law enforcement. It’s not perfect but I think it’s interesting
Watched the following:
‘The Fall’ - Shiiit, this was good. Really creepy.
‘Frasier’ - Watched nearly all of it, tapped out at season ten, got really bad.
‘Buffy The Vampire Slayer’ - Really loved this, had to give up at ‘The Body’ though, too much for my GF.
‘Sex And The City’ - Absolutely gas shit. Loved hating it.
‘Good Omens’ - Brilliant, loved every second.
Currently watching:
‘Succession’ - GF hates it, I love it.
‘Oz’ - What is this shit. Why is Liz Lemon’s BF in it?
Yeah watched all of this during lockdown when wfh.
Been watching comedy central of a morning instead lately.
This week though? Sky Comedy have only gone and started show Curb Your Enthusiasm from the start, 2 EPs a day from 10am. Class!
