One Battle After Another

Mert keeps tagging JaguarPirate in this thread about a film starring a handsome Spanish speaking actor.

Have yer barred him?

No it’s Benicio Del Toro!

I didn’t like Inherent Vice at all, however, Hard Eight and Phantom Thread are both great.

Every time Benicio del Toro was on screen, I was like “hell yeah”

is it worth reading a spoiler for this movie if I’m kinda curious but not going to go see it?

Yeah, read the synopsis and then tell us if it’s a good film

I’m not equipped to answer this I’m afraid, Bammers

This is a good thread actually. Bam reads synopsis of film he hasn’t seen, posts review

That was really really good. I do enjoy a well-made motion picture.

Thought nothing would top seeing Twin Peaks 3.08 in terms of cinema experience this year, but this came very close tbf.

Didn’t see it with any fancy projection but still stood out as the best big screen experience since Oppenheimer, think this is a far better film in its own right though. Not quite up there with The Master or TWBB but perfectly nailed what it’s going for.

Not an annoying pretentious tumblry Letterboxd person* but found it impossible to escape a feeling of a master at work / they don’t make em like this anymore / now this is filmmaking during the riot sequence and the car chases at the end. Score was superb throughout.

*Hmm maybe I am

This, Eddington and the very underrated How To Blow Up A Pipeline would make for a very good, maybe madness-inducing triple feature imho
