Bet he flew with Ryanair despite earning £££/on a private jet because of all his £££ too. The bastard.

Fuck all this ‘soon to be’ nonsense. One of us! One of us!

What do you need to know? We had a really shitty start last season, our first back in league one, went on an amazing run after Christmas and finished 7th. Derek Adams is probably our best manager since Sturrock’s first spell and seems to really relish taking players who are out of favour and a bit down on their luck career wise and turning them around (bit of a dodgy record with signing strikers but you can’t have it all). Our capacity is reduced this season cause the grandstand is being rebuilt, there’s a growing faction amongst our fans that the owner/chairman James Brent is a bit of a conman financially and out of his depth which is all bollocks really seeing how he saved the club about an hour before liquidation, has transformed himself into a football fan and has overseen a playoff final, promotion and nearly another one. Our big games this season will be Bristol Rovers (very nearly a full scale riot at Home Park when we beat them in the last minute last season) and Pompey as always, normally at bit of beev with Luton too, and they’ve just signed one of our best players of the last few years, Sonny Bradley. We’ve got Ryan Edwards back after he had testicular cancer and signed a fair few half decent looking kids/released players from PL clubs, plus Scott Wootton of never playing for United fame. This season could go either way, we’re 13/2 to go up and about the same to go down. Oh and we have a fucking beautiful kit this year. Hope this helps!

Think I’ll post about Champions League, Championship, international football and even, just for the sake of it, Scottish football in the regular footie threads

Feel it’s somewhat interesting that United aren’t willing to throw money at Jose right now. We’re clearly not being cautious because we don’t have money to spend. So it’s more likely that we don’t want his quick fix players stinking up the squad when we bin him off at the end of next season. The club knows that they somehow have to anchor down the likes of Pogba and Martial next summer, and particularly in the former’s case, that’ll mean bye bye Mourinho.

Guess you could also argue it was interesting that Spurs aren’t putting any additional money behind Pochettino, if you wanted to get the tin foil hat out. But that just could be because they broke the bank for these new contracts

Spurs had to take out a very expensive, short-term loan to cover the extra costs on their new ground. They’ve got to pay £80m a season off for five years.

Still. Does anyone really see Spurs winning the league this year? Poch staying if they don’t? Jose still being at United?

Glazers.

It’s astonishing to me how willing so many United fans are to overlook the glaring fact that 15 years worth of parasitic owners was only ever going to end one way. The only time they’ve spent big money in the last few years is when there is an accompanying commercial return on the outlay.

The Glazers are happy to finish fourth and not win anything, it is completely immaterial to them whether or not the club wins trophies all the while their bottom line is not affected.

The galling thing about the recent nonsense is that I’ve been waiting 15 years for a United manager to call out the club for this and now it’s happening it’s entirely down to self-protection from an absolute knobhead of a human being rather than anything to do with the club’s wellbeing.

Well no, Spurs are obviously banking on their current squad being good enough to finish 4th each season over an extended period of limited transfers.

The mood around United does seem a bit rotten, but i can see Mourinho’s point. The board have neither sold the players he’s asked them to sell or bought the ones he’s asked them to buy. They should still hope to win the title, but…

At least your owners’ bottom line is fourth, not seventeenth. (Mike Ashley)

The two aren’t mutually exclusive though – the Glazers tightening the purse strings and them having made the decision to move on from Mourinho

Not saying I think Poch is a done deal, but it might make a lot of sense by the end of the season

Aye. Well aware that it’s grating to see supporters of big and successful clubs moaning but the principles are exactly the same innit.

Appointing Van Gaal when he was being linked with Spurs and letting Spurs get Pochettino instead was obviously a bad move in hindsight (literally nobody was calling for him at the time though obviously)

Would love to see him at United at some point and think he’d definitely be getting more out of some of our players than Mourinho is. Still question marks over him though IMO.

Which managers aren’t there question marks over?

Literally only Guardiola tbf

Ancelotti maybe as well

One more Liverpool spanking away.
