Ancelotti’s won four league titles in 23 seasons despite picking his clubs very carefully.

Guardiola’s not got to a Champions League final in six years despite managing squids with limitless funds.

Yeah, no one had the foresight to see his potential after Southampton, but you could argue he needed to learn at a club where there was less pressure and expectations anyway. He clearly wasnt available at that point, but the board and class of 92 have been tapping him up since before Mourinho joined

Aye, league football is always the most reliable indicator innit.

Surprised by that Ancelotti record though

Allegri?

Can a manager ever be considered great if he doesn’t do it in more than one major league?

Yes

Spurs are pretty much one in one out this summer with the stadium, new contracts and foreign quotas full. I hope

I will kill myself if Poch goes to utd, hoping when he does leave it’ll be to madrid

Even then, one of the most remarkable managers in Scottish football history (edit: back when Scottish football chat was allowed)

Am I a fool for having this romantic idea/dream of Sturridge finding a semi-regular role for Liverpool this season? And bagging a dozen goals or so too?

If you’ve changed the club physio, yes.

Well Klopp was chatting about individualised training for him etc but he’s never gonna press like Firmino does tbh. :frowning:

Mourinho is not doing anything this year that he hasn’t done in most pre-seasons.

  1. Get in some excuses why his team won’t win anything.
  2. Moan about the quality of the squad.
  3. Big up the chances of rivals.

It’s all designed to put pressure on the team’s owners to buy him new players and shift the focus from him onto others. He does this year after year and the Press always go along with it.

He’s taken it a bit further this year by telling the US fans they’d wasted their money watching them. Definitely trying to derail the marketing in the US just to be spiteful.
Also said all the young kids were rubbish.

It is absolutely mad to pay 150 quid to see the reserves. Not supposed to say it though, obviously

What’s the alternative for the press? Manager at a big club having a strop’s gold dust to them. Most of the broadsheet articles i’ve read have seen straight through his behaviour.
