What ya wearing? Anything you’re thinking of buying? TELL ME EVERYTHING.

After a couple of years wearing the same 7 dresses, 3 jumpers and 3 skirts on rotation I’ve bought a bunch of new stuff which I am VERY excited about!

Practical stuff first: 4 bras, 3 plain t-shirts, a PAIR OF JEANS!!! and some hiking boots lol. Who am I becoming?! More exciting stuff though:

This is well romantic but I’m hoping it’ll pass as creative office wear:

Had to go 4 sizes down on this. ASOS smock dresses are ridic:

Look at these earrings!!!

This came without a slip underneath so was a bit :eyes: however it’ll be great a) once I do get a slip, and b) over a swimsuit on holiday:

And last but not least, this is ridiculous but I’ll find somewhere to wear it. Even if it’s down the post office:

I’ve arrived at that age now where i’ve finally accepted that jeans are shite and you might as well just wear chinos because they look the same as jeans in most colours, are far more comfortable and cost a lot less.

#3

Check shirts mainly

#4

I’ve never worn chinos - I actually haven’t worn trousers of any kind since I was 17(!) so it’s a whole new world to me

#5

I’m pretty happy that denim jackets are coming back into fashion.

Not really happy with the Kevin and Perry go large look or the Christina Aguilera circa 2001 look. Hope they go away soon.

#6

I bought a royal blue cardigan

#7

Opposite for me - realised a few years back that I only really feel comfortable in jeans and stopped making any attempt to β€œsmarten up” for work in chinos and the like.

Shorts are good when it’s hot though.

#8

I was really hoping we’d skip late 90s/00s hell and go straight to 2003 electroclash/2004 indie wank. Alas, there’s a few years of eyelets and camo vests yet to come. :frowning:

Best colour

THINGS I HAVE BOUGHT OR WILL BE BUYING SOON LIST:

  1. Insane in the Rain raincoat (will buy when I get my work discount card): https://insaneintherain.com/product/jacket-3/ - it’s made from recycled bottles!! Plus I really need a raincoat and noramlly they don’t fit round my massive bum/hips/stomach BUT THESE ONES ARE MASSIVE AND LOOSE so I actually went for the smaller size, yaaaas

  2. Forever 21 gingham tiered maxi dress: http://www.forever21.com/UK/Product/Product.aspx?BR=PLUS&Category=plus_size-dresses&ProductID=2000264654&VariantID= IT HAS A BOW, very on-brand content for ol Pervo

  3. Lindy Bop navy swing dress (it was Β£9 in the sale…): https://www.lindybop.co.uk/media/catalog/product/cache/1/image/9df78eab33525d08d6e5fb8d27136e95/1/4/1423824680-46040200.jpg

I also quite like this: http://www.forever21.com/UK/Product/Product.aspx?br=LOVE21&category=DRESS&productid=2000216370 but the non-see-through bit of the skirt is verrrry short.

THINGS I LIKE BUT CANNOT AFFORD AT WORK LIST :dress:

Wish I could live in shorts

#12

That raincoat is super sweet and awesome that it’s recycled

Also I realise I’ve started this thread off on a materialistic note but it definitely doesn’t have to be just about what we’ve bought.

I spent a lot of time looking at old sewing patterns from the 30s today. Does anyone here sew? I keep trying to learn but I’ve never been able to sew in a straight line, heh.

Also this skirt (midi??? ummmm it is totally maxi if you are short like me) was like the best investment for my work wardrobe. I wear it twice a week because it’s so comfortable and stylin’ and because it’s long I can just wear leggings underneath. People at work know when I’m coming down the corridor because they can hear me swishing (apparently)

#14

I got a very nice bra in the tail end of the sales from M&S, Β£20 down to Β£2. Pretty happy with that.

Also actually bought this dress that I posted about before:

#15

YES!! This is the thread I’ve been dreaming you would start! I love ALL OF THIS.

#16

Jean genie!

#17

God I love bargains like that! And you know M&S bras are gonna last forever, as well. That dress is gorgeous, really suits you!

@imaperv that’s a lovely skirt! I’ve got a fair few veterans that I still wear regularly. My nan bought me a fake fur coat when I was about 13, and I still wear it now. (I feel like Pat Butcher in it, it’s great)

#18

I didn’t wear pants for the whole summer of 2017 but that’s a much better achievement right there!

#19

Thinking of buying a very expensive pair of Nike Air Max in two weeks along with my first pair of skinny jeans. Going to seriously upgrade my look this year.

#20

I’m so out of touch with fashion I’ve never even looked at ASOS. Haven’t worn jeans/trousers in about 10 years. Have about 50 variations of the same dress. I’m definitely not stylish.
