Someone else.

Pretty excited about āsuper dark heavy ballad about fighting balrog in the center of earth that is a sex metaphorā
If anyone hasnāt seen her live, there is or was a rip of her Glastonbury appearance when it was shown on BBC. Much better quality than most of the Youtube thingsā¦not sure on the legality of it. But it was available a while ago.
I have it and itās awesome. Highly recommended.
Some exciting Grimes news: https://www.stereogum.com/1996055/grimes-shares-new-song-descriptions-and-working-tracklist-for-new-album/news/
thought she was a bit shit at primavera when touring visions. has probably got better since though (bigger budget, more musicians etc)
Grimesā shows used to be quite sloppy even if still entertaining. But after playing so many shows her skills improved. By 2014 (between Visions and Art Angels) she was already great live except some occasional mistakes:
this already looks much more entertaining. primavera was just her with pretty terrible sound and two random groupies dancing beside her. evidence below
It was quite messy indeed. That FYF Fest 2014 show was so much better. Is it me or it had an industrial vibe (like NIN without guitars)? Such an incredible ending for Symphonia IX (My Wait Is U).
As for that Glastonbury show, thereās an online version on Dailymotion for anyone interested.
Thatās it thanks. Sheās still a bit ropey with the singing but it is a good performance. When I was at the Brixton academy gig it took me back to late 90s club events there in some ways.
Because she moves so much on stage + playing synths, samplers, guitar, drums. When sheās standing still her vocals are better:
This Ave Maria cover is heavenly.
Classic humblebrag (RIP Harris)
i love grimes. sheās a big Metal Gear Solid fan too. in fact, thinking about it sheās basically my ultimate teenage crush.
I quite like the collab she did with Janelle MonƔe on Dirty Computer, even if the chorus was the most crashingly generic pop on the album. TBH these days I think I hate Grimes fans significantly more than her music.
