Pavement (Rolling thread) - Reunion tour 2.0 is over.

Running out of time for a 3 min bop seems very unfair - let them play!

Reports out of Bluedot were positive, even if the festival was a washout. Cool to see Stuart from Mogwai showed up for ‘Fin’.

Set seems fairly locked in so I’m not expecting any surprises tonight, just a really professional Pavement set with about twenty-five songs.

Got ‘Grave Architecture’ and ‘Father To A Sister Of Thought’ so I was delighted. Even more delighted today when my pal and I met Mark Ibold!

Absolutely sound lad, fair play to him for allowing two Irish lads babble to him about bass playing for a few minutes.

R.I.P. to an absolute legend. I don’t think we’d ever have heard of Pavement without him. His drums on the early EPs and S+E are so good, hooks for days inside those parts. A unique individual.

Only noticed recently how great his drumming is on the early stuff

It’s so good. There’s always a little lick or hook to pull you in. The start of ‘Fame Throwa’ for example!

So sad. Is anyone else old enough to remember when he’d go along the queue outside the venue handing out gifts? He gave me a biscuit once and my then gf a balloon on another occasion.

Really sad about this, he plays on all of my favourite Pavement songs. Gave me a carrot outside the Leadmill in Sheffield, which I kept waaaaay longer than was hygienic.

I saw them at the Leadmill with Belly - that’s when I got the biscuit.

Ha! He must have run out of biscuits by the time he got to me, then.

I didnt realise Pavement were so popular in the UK that early that you’d all be going! Weren’t you all meant to be listening to Betty Boo or something?
