Why? If people are in close proximity and their personal space overlaps you would expect people to not act in a way that might make others uncomfortable

Yeah I do agree. I was just thinking about this as it applies to meow’s situation (when they’re just in the same bar), in which case, I’d think you were being precious. But opposite you on some train seats is a bit much, if your knees bang together, you’d practically be joining in.

They were next to me at the bar, directly to the left of where I was looking at my boyfriend’s face (we were at the corner of the bar).
His elbow touched my boyfriends elbow several times. I’d say that was close enough to find it annoying.

Also it was a quiet and smallish cocktail bar.

not really that fussed, genuinely enjoy watching people enjoying each other’s company and I rarely see anyone being particularly over the top with it.
