I sometimes think about how there must be some English teachers who have entered education solely because of a love of Harry Potter books and it makes me cringe to my very core.

its great that kids read Harry Potter, its just great seeing your kids read and really enjoying it, their imaginations must be going into overload trying picture what Potter’s world looks like (before they’ve seen the films) But as for adults being obsessed with it ? find it all a bit weird personally.

I think much like Star Wars it’s such a huge part of their youth they just take it into adulthood with them. And just like SW the fans are fine so long as they have a sense of humour about it all. It’s super defensiveness that I find worthy of mockery really. Same goes for people super into anything.
