It was Capes not Dodd. One of the few things I remember about Ken Dodd though was that he had loads of money stashed under his mattress in case of civil war supposedly

Summary

he was apparently some famous plane bloke or something, and this ‘gang’ kidnapped his baby for ransom, and it went on for weeks or months with like mad cap chases and a massive police investigation, but they eventually found the baby’s body a few hundred yards from the house and they reckon they dropped it while climbing out of the window right when it first happened. one bloke was convicted of it but most people believe he can’t possibly have done it all by himself.
