Who is your favourite tv show detective?
So when I started replying to this my answer was ‘extremely little. shower, wear a cute dress, get some food, watch some episodes of Succession with my bff who stayed over after Barbie yesterday’ but then as i was writing it, bff’s mum arrived and told her that her grandma died last night…! oop!
she’s mostly fine bc she knew it was coming but we have ordered some junk food to the house and are now watching Mikes Mic’s video on the animated rodent agenda of 2006/07
an unexpected saga to start the day!
That’s ok, I’m always pleased to share my high-powered professional insights with others to help them thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced corporate environment.
I have! I have been counting down to 21st July 2023 for many months now and knew I had to see the Barbie movie (2023) on opening day, so I gathered 8 (should have been 9 but @dingers was ill ) pals for the 19:40 screening at the Tunbridge Wells branch of Odeon.
I wore a pink sparkly skater dress, pink denim jacket, white tights, giant pink bow (which i swapped out for a flat pink hairband during the screening so people behind me could see Greta Gerwig’s masterpiece), my pink telephone bag and these shoes:
It was artistry beyond the bounds of human comprehension. the closest thing to a hilarious Pervo script that I have ever seen make it to the big screen. Greta Gerwig truly delivered the goods, Margot Robbie brought heart but also superb indifference to Ken’s simping, Ryan Gosling deserves an Oscar and a Nobel Peace Prize because his performance as Ken has redefined the art of acting and will end wars. the outfits are 11/10. sublime!!
Great reply
Thank you
Just to say that your hype for the barbie movie has pushed me to be my best kencore self to see it today.
No questions, just pure love.
I’m here for a good time (throwing down some classic lines about the Barbie movie (2023), bows, professionalism, Royal Ket Baby, groundhopping and future capital of the United Kingdom, Barnsley), not a long time (slowly sinking into the quicksand of British politics in 2023 and internecine forum warfare)!!
Emphasis on the more!!! I was worried I’d seen too many promo clips and that it would feel like I’d deprived myself of really watching this masterpiece for the first time but not at all. The story went in a different direction than I expected but in a way that showcased Ryan Gosling’s life-changing turn as Ken to its best advantage, it really takes it up a notch. The movie is as subtle as the marketing campaign and that is NOT a criticism!
Miserygutses will hate it and complain about excessive memeification/consumerist neoliberal faux-feminism or whatever people who don’t like things complain about, but that is not me and i’m glad of it
I did find myself reading Oppenheimer (person)'s wiki page and it was quite interesting but dedicating 3 HOURS of my short time on God’s green earth??? Why would I watch that when I could rewatch the Barbie movie (2023) one and a half times
Have you watched any of this series of Love Island?

Lots of groundhops, I ended up visiting 46 of the 92 league clubs last season (although I need to redo Rotherham) without missing any Tonbridge home league games. It burned me out quite a bit towards the end, trying to navigate cross-country travel around train strikes was a complete fucker and meant I had to keep spending longer away from home than I wanted to. But after a few months away I’m raring to go for next season and have approx 20 league groundhops pencilled in before the end of the year (finance/train strike dependent).
if anyone in the Midlands/North fancies a trip from Pervo visit please let me know

I got complimented on my outfit on the train by the costume designer on Sex Education
Not too shabs, you?
Thank you for the comprehensive update.
Swallow, a detective who tackles vandalism. A bit of a maverick; not afraid to break the law if he thinks it necessary. I mean he’s not a criminal, but you know… he will perhaps travel at 80 mph on the motorway for example if he wants to get somewhere quickly. Think about it; no one had heard of Oxford before Inspector Morse. Swallow put Norwich on the map.
(I think I’ve only really watched Midsomer Murders in terms of detective shows. I think you could consider Gossip Girl and Pretty Little Liars to involve detective work in an extremely liberal sense, but…)
