Only just starting to explore his albums
I like So, and the third (Melt) and fourth (Security) self-titled albums so far.
Are there any other things i should check out?
This was all triggered by seeing the sledgehammer video on a pub tv the other day and remembering i liked the song a lot.
No Genesis. I used to listen to Lamb Lies… at uni but nah

Us is my favourite album of his (and one of my favourite albums of all time). Very much a Daniel Lanois produced album.
The different versions of ‘Excellent Birds’ (one of them on ‘So’). The one on the Laurie Anderson record is my favourite
although there’s also a nice unreleased version that was only used for the music video, just to confuse things further:
Most of them are worth hearing once. I am also a fan of Us. Up has its moments. Last year’s album is good.
The first three are good and contain some of his best tracks but for me it is 4 and So that are his best albums overall.
He’s a great live performer so the live albums are a good listen, including the bonus disc with So.
I’m not a fan of Scratch My Back and New Blood but even those are worth one listen.

The new one, I/O, is excellent. Love that he put it out as two different mixes (three if you count the Blu-ray) and both are as good as each other but give you a different feel for each song. His voice just hasn’t really changed, he sounds as good now as he did in the 80s.
Really love his soundtrack album for passion of the christ if that counts.
Edit : last temptation!!! Not the Mel Gibson one.
Got.confused because the album was originally released as “passion”
+1 for grabbing the new album. He’s still great.
Mercy Street is just incredible isn’t it?
Maybe my favourite of his. Feel like it’s slightly slept on.
