I think latterly it comes a bit unstuck just as connections are being made (I’d say maybe from the introduction of the mermaid) onwards? where they go their separate ways, which is a shame because until that point it felt pretty sharply propulsive to me. Find it hard to fault it too much though! The end was abrupt but is the logical endpoint for a catalogue of disasters I reckon!

Ok, I hadn’t planned to read it next but as I’ve very nearly finished the Malazan novel I’m currently on I might queue it up and get it read so I can join in the chat!
