He always seemed off in my small world after watching The Ramones comments on a bootleg video in the late 80’s. Control freak and more. Awful shame as he was a Producing talent clearly. As a side note I get that Joey Ramone loved the 60’s sound but he did them no favours with his work. Rock n’ Roll High School is great but it would have sounded better in a rawer fashion I feel.
A school friend of mine south a 180 minute VHS from a record fair in the mid 80’s and on the way to his Dads to watch it on the video player there we both realised we’d never seen them play music on television or, as you point out, speak. value for money for that tenner.
