When I am in the mood for the Stones or the Dead official live releases, I am never disappointed by either of these albums.

Of course, I have lots of boots by both bands.

The version of Midnight Rambler on Get Yer Ya-Ya’s Out is magnificent. Big fan of that album.

Primal Scream - Live in Japan
The version of Accelerator is probably my favorite live thing ever

Bruce Springsteen and E Street Band - Live 1975-85
Bonus goosebumps for the Nebraska songs

Portishead - Roseland NYC Live
See also, lots of goosebumps throughout

Portishead - Roseland NYC
DJ Shadow - In Tune & On Time
My Morning Jacket - Okonokos
Underworld - Everything Everything
Banco de Gaia - Live at Glastonbury
Orb - Live 93
Jeff Buckley - Live at Sin-É

Hmm… I should probably look for some non-90s live albums.

Neil Young - Unplugged and Bowie - Spiders From Mars are both pretty much perfect.

Sam Cooke - Live at the Harlem Square Club Vastly superior to Live at the Copa and possibly the best live album of all time.

Rolling Stone - Brussels Affair Just shades it over Ya-Yas for me - I prefer the sleazier, 70s sounds.

Springsteen - The Christic Shows I think these were his first ever solo shows. They finally got a release last year. The piano version of Tenth Avenue is brilliant - His voice has never sounded better.

Indeed. I particularly like “Love in Vain” and “Stray Cat Blues” on Ya-Yas and Live’R. Probably best versions of both of those songs for me, ever.
