Oooh you know what I haven’t had for years? Tuna pasta salad. Used to make it with sweetcorn, pesto and cucumber
make some escalivada.
neither do I, but come on. hummus is the best.
Oooh, my mum used to make something like this but without the aubergine, I never ate it because I didn’t used to like peppers, but it looked very appetising and I love peppers now…
(I still don’t like aubs tho)
aubergine is pretty disappointing, but its okay in this imo. but yeah, could do without aubergine if i’m being honest.
courgettes and aubergines are the only two bad vegetables.
Mushrooms are worse, but yeah, mostly agree.
I mean in general. could just bin it off and i wouldn’t be that sad.
Ottolenghi very full tart
Basically roast whatever veg you have in cubes and make it into a quiche with ricotta and feta in. Is so nice.
hate it when people say ‘oh you must not be cooking it properly’ - i’ve had it cooked by master aubergine chefs, and its still a bit shite.
Basically have to have music on at all times. I am considerate of other people though so make sure to set up our picnic spot as far away from them as possible and only play the music at a lowish volume
Wild how desperate people are to convince you that a mediocre if not minging vegetable is ‘actually delicious when it’s properly cooked’
Love picnics, having one today with my parents. My daughter’s beyond excited at seeing her grandparents for the first time in 6 months, and only slightly less excited at the Easter tart we’re bringing
I really want a slice of this! What recipe did you use, please?
I offered my parents the leftovers and they had the audacity to accept
bad hummus is bad

I have never had that hummus.
I would like to think acoustic in the park could be nice, but only in a passive/non-attention grabbing/nice, idle-but-competent fingerpicking in the background kind of way
or like Kurt Vile, or maybe slapdash trying to play requests for fun
