Was trying to find this before Christmas, had no luck, it’s good then?

I have a two year-old daughter so picture books are p much my entire life. Spent the last two years buying her all my old favourites, The Tiger Who Came To Tea is a stone cold classic, you can read a lot into that book if you’re that way inclined.

Favourite one is I Am A Bunny. I love lots of Richard Scarry’s stuff like What Do People Do All Day, but I Am A Bunny is just lovely, every page is perfect

No reason not to introduce anything at a young age, and tbh with LGBT+ stuff the earlier the better so it isn’t seen as an other, but just part of life.

I’m at my mam’s, so here’s a few photos. First up, as mentioned upthread, the Jolly Postman. My mam always wrote our names and the date on the inside cover, so this was given to my older brother at Christmas 1989.

He delivers mail to various fairytale characters, e.g.:

And inside that envelope is:

I always loved this book of Rudyard Kipling’s Just So Stories (got for me at Christmas 1993, according to the inside cover), with beautiful kind of foil illustration things? Idk:

The Island by Armin Greder is a brilliant book about refugees, vulnerability, loneliness, selfishness etc.

Anyone seen anything good lately?

Local library had a bunch of new stuff in, got an excellent haul even with having to save a lot for next time.

Also saw this book about the bear @fitzcarraldo’s band is named after:

Really into everything Flying Eye have been putting out recently, all we’ve read has been consistently excellent.
