Maybe she’s more ‘hibernating’ than active/finished, but I’m pretty sure she has a bunch of new songs

Beyoncé is on 4 (solo studio albums) could be higher depending on if you include/exclude soundtrack/live/collaborative albums

Vampire Weekend messed up their perfect run with Father of the bride (4 of the last 5)

Had a good laugh at the incongruous nature of the intro para and corresponding score for the Wet Leg record:

‘The UK duo’s second album is a near-reinvention, an unbridled and clear-eyed testament to their songwriting chops that hones their vision and separates them from the pack…7.8

Open Mike Eagle getting a BNM this far into his career is awesome and well deserved

I was going to say it was a bit like MIKE earlier this year…but I didn’t realise Tears of Joy got a BNM. Anyway, it’s early days but so far I wouldn’t say this Open Mike album is any more deserving than his others. Maybe it’s like a career recognition one, like when Ryan Giggs won player of the season

Reckon it could well be his best since Brick Body, and if they weren’t going to stick their neck out then (they should have), now is as good a time to do it as any.

I think that ties into the point I made in the Needle Drop thread…that Picthfork are so calculating with their review scores that you can easily imagine them giving a BNM to someone because they missed out earlier in their career.

They’ve turned into the Oscars!

unreasonably irked that they’ve transcribed this as ‘asses’ instead of the correct ‘arses’

album’s called black british music but nah let’s just americanise it anyway

Strange that even Jim (or whoever posted this on his behalf) is spelling it that way too
