Had a good laugh at the incongruous nature of the intro para and corresponding score for the Wet Leg record:

I was going to say it was a bit like MIKE earlier this year…but I didn’t realise Tears of Joy got a BNM. Anyway, it’s early days but so far I wouldn’t say this Open Mike album is any more deserving than his others. Maybe it’s like a career recognition one, like when Ryan Giggs won player of the season
Reckon it could well be his best since Brick Body, and if they weren’t going to stick their neck out then (they should have), now is as good a time to do it as any.
I think that ties into the point I made in the Needle Drop thread…that Picthfork are so calculating with their review scores that you can easily imagine them giving a BNM to someone because they missed out earlier in their career.
