Yes, yet another mass shooting, this time at a synagogue in Pittsburgh, on Shabbat of all days.
There’s nothing to be said really, is there? As someone who has Jewish roots I find this all very sad. Reminded me of my travels over the summer in the Baltic. Whenever I’m travelling I always seek out the main synagogue in town - not out of any religious observance but more out of a form of general curiosity - and when we were there there were armed police outside the main synagogue in Riga and a 10ft fence protecting the synagogue in Vilnius against vandalism, and I can’t help but think to myself, what the fuck is going on? We can’t even have a place of worship unless it’s protected 24/7?
It’s just so utterly depressing.
