Was fine but… Had hundreds of other restaurants to choose from

ExPizza Press?

I always found Pizza Express very dependable for pizzas and before we left they’d started doing vegan ones with pretty decent cheese substitutes on them, so I’m sad they’re going.

In terms of these chains I’d probably put them below Strada and Zizzi but only because those two both had specific menu items I liked.

When I lived in Golder’s Green I used to regularly request a takeaway pizza by phone then collect on the way to the tube to a gig or something. I would always, always forget to ask them to slice it so I’d just have to stand there tearing the fuck out of it to eat it as I went.

I guess the cost of closing down a business is huge, right? You make everyone redundant so you need to pay them all off. Then you have a load of contracts with various companies that you would likely have to cancel and that would put you out of pocket. Unless you were in the enviable position of owning all your property you then have to get rid of that and likely, again, you have lease contracts, probably long ones to keep your rents down as low as possible. By the end you’d probably be in debt.

That’s assuming it’s not a franchise. I’d guess if it was you’ve got a different contractual system that lets them buy you out in some way but maybe they get the right to the name.

I don’t even think we are deserving of the endless salad bar buffet, to be honest. Is there a lower form of pizza? Just those mini Chicago Towns for everyone, forever

The fact they didn’t automatically slice a takeaway pizza is a massive black mark - I hate pizza express now

But for takeaway - madness.

Nope. Italians sell pizza by the slice too

I have a love-hate relationship with Pizza Hut

  • love it when the kids suggest Pizza Hut on a weekday buffet day
  • love the concept of unlimited pizza!
  • love putting some extra chillies on top
  • hate that feeling afterwards where you are full of carbs and fat and you never want to eat again.

It’s poor Theo eating a whole unsliced pizza on the tube with his bare hands, sauce all over his face you need to be arguing with

Caveat: haven’t actually read this thread.

Me and her have been regulars at Pizza Express for years because we could get 2 for 1 with a Tastecard. I genuinely have no idea how they can do that without losing money. Presumably hoping for compensatory booze / dough ball expenditure.

So it’s probably my fault.

Sliced - it’s better that way

Eating pizza by cutting each mouthful individually whilst the table wobbles to fuck is insane. Even if you are Italian

People who don’t like Pizza Express are wrong.

People who don’t use cutlery in Pizza Express are no better than slugs.

(haven’t read most of the thread)
