⚽️ PL GW 37 Return of the Fans/The Rise of Kyle Walker ⚽️

I’m taking my son to Brighton v City tonight. Amazed to get tickets (members, but not ST holders) - he’s 8 and off-his-face-excited to go to a game after 14 months or whatever. He’s also very excited to get a pie.

can’t believe he’s been there for 4 years. that’s ages in modern manager terms

The Brighton ones are very good.

21 quid for a pie?!

And people moan about Arsenal prices…

that’s for a box of 6 I believe.

I think they’re in the range of ~£3.50 (per pie) at the ground

I’m grateful for the stability Roy gas given us, on a limited budget especially after the Frank De Boer fiasco. But it’s the right time, our games have generally been very dull. With the exception of Villa this weekend.

Looks like it going to be another Frank (Lampard) to replace him.

Hodgsons last game is against Liverpool. Roy (and an in form Benteke) would love a “Crystanbul 2”, to deprive Liverpool of a Champions League place

This is actually going to happen isn’t it? Benteke always performed great against us, even when he played for us

This, lovely bloke, gave us stability after years of changing managers. I’ve all the time in the world for him, but we do need a change. Especially with the squad overhaul we need.

Sky in ‘our sources say top player wants to leave’ shocker. They seriously have no credibility on this, we’ve been through it with Bale, Berbatov, Modric, Carrick and they’re just recycling the same old storyline. I don’t think anything new has actually happened?

On Kane specifically actual journalists in the know eg Ornstein and Alasdair Gold are all in agreement, he wants to leave if possible but it’s still very unlikely.

He’s worth so much more to us than he is to any other club and of the few that could afford him, I can’t see them going for it when the money could be used for Mbappe or Haaland down the line. He’s also contracted til 2024 and is a great professional that I can’t see ever publicly throwing his toys out the pram. It would take a stupid amount of money for Levy to even consider it and that’s not happening in this climate.

I just can’t see it happening. #indenial

4 players who all remained at Spurs for their careers

Except Manchester Utd

I mean they spent all summer recycling stories and fuelling speculation without anything new to go off.

I suppose but they’ve just got Cavani sorted for another year which doesn’t suggest they’re planning on anything massive. Idk

Scored our first ever Champions League goal too. He’s a wizard

Honestly, Kane is unique

For all Mbappé & Haaland look like duopolising FIFA world player of the year for the next decade they are both untried in the Premier League whereas Kane has scored 165 PL goals, he’ll probably be 3rd on the all time list before the end of next season

Plus he’s England captain

All of this spells Manchester Utd to me

Also speaks volumes that all of the players currently above him on PL goal stats have all won the PL

Yep absolutely worst case scenario (other than Chelsea - which is just ridiculous and unrealistic).

Ferguson would have been tapping him up and praising him publicly for years if he was still manager.

Do wonder if Kane going public now is less about moving this summer as trying to manoeuvre Spurs into a promise to let him go next year.

Again the naive child in me thinks he’ll want another year at whl with the fans in and wouldn’t want to leave after the fanless season

But yknow

I imagine Harry Kane by now knows a lot more about who the potential new spurs manager is/will be than most other people in the world. That’s the crucial bit imo

It must be Tuchel then. That guy hates strikers.
