That said there are some young English lads that are a) good lads, b) good to watch in a non-Gerrard/Beckham-try-to-do-everything-and-subsequently-make-your-team-play-shit way.

Sancho should be in the first xi by the way.

Fuck it, starting xi

Lovely Bukayo left in London as he’s currently too pure for international football.

Hold a British passport and lived here almost my entire life and have been told I “should” support England, but raised to support Ukraine (this’ll be the first international tournament I’ve missed them at).

Actively supported whoever they were playing growing up, hated the Cole/Terry/Lampard/Rooney generation. Nothing against this current generation and quite enjoyed the country going a bit mad in 2018, but still found it good and funny when Croatia won.

If Phillips is in the XI, might actually will them to win this time. Will feel extremely weird doing so though.

Been having this chat on WhatsApp today with the lads.
We used to have themed parties when England played with the theme being whoever they were playing. Food and drink from the opposition country.

We all quite like the players now so won’t be doing that this year. Won’t be cheering England on but no I’ll will to them anymore

I think the last time I watched England at my mates flat with us all having big bags of cans and a lovely time was vs Algeria. Cant believe that’s my final memory of it

more like you’ve seen the opponents England have in the group stage and don’t fancy sampling the world famous cuisines of Croatia, the Czech Republic and Scotland.

Think this is the crux of it- he might have the managerial nouse and brain of guardiola, fergie and sacchi combined, but there is no way I can respect a grown man who likes Jason derulo

love the press conference reaction to it though. seems like a mega nice guy

Wasn’t that into England a few years ago but after having Mourinho and now Martinez maybe managing my club team it seems like a good time to get fully behind England’s Brave Young Lions

Have I ever told you how much I prefer international football to the premier league?
