Maybe just north of Durham…

Basically everywhere in England that isn’t London, Birmingham, Manchester, Liverpool, Brighton, Bristol or Newcastle could be literally anywhere

100% agree on Pontefract.

I used to get confused between Tazmania and Tanzania.

I went to Ashby-De-La-Zouch as a young kid. It’s one of my earliest memories. I think I must have been just 4

I remember it quite clearly though because we went to stay with some 2nd cousins of my mum or something - a young couple who had bought a pub that they were converting into a house. They’d started by converting the skittle alley into a firing range because they were gun nuts. I remember being allowed to hold a colt revolver and being allowed to watch while they did some target practice. So that was a strong memory. But the really strong memory was that they had mice and I woke up the next morning to my (then 6 yo sister) screaming as there was a dead grey mouse in the middle of the bedroom floor. I think their cat must have left it there

Always thought Galicia was in Northern Portugal.

If it was spelled Pontyfract, it would def be in the welsh valleys.

Used to get Yeovil and Ipswich confused all the time.

Once heard a horror story of a non London local accidentally getting on a train to Nottingham rather than Mottingham.

We’re going to need more on this I think.

Northampton (specifically Silverstone) isn’t where I think it is. Not sure I could point out Northamptonshire on a map with any accuracy.

Or Donnington.

Basically any motor racing circuits.

Billericay doesn’t sound like it’s in Essex.

It does when you hear a local say it…

Unsure. Perhaps it’s just that they’re two unusual words and places I have never been to so could not make a personal connection.

You’re a west country chap amiright. Is Yeovil worth a visit?

I always though Edinburgh was somewhere west of Bristol.

Thought Carlisle was in Scotland and Penrith was in Wales.

Used to think that the county of Glamorgan was in Scotland until I ended up living there. Think I had it confused with the Grampians (which is a mountain range and not a county!?).

Know that Pontefract is definitely in England and not Wales as it’s my birthplace. Never been back there though

Really don’t like living in England, when I think about it

Fair enough.

Oh and I thought for AGES that Nepal was a South American country, for some reason

Only ever been there for football and it’s an absolute dump.

Anywhere in Scotland that isn’t Glasgow or Edinburgh. Go on, have a guess where it is? WRONG! You’re about 200 miles too far south.
