These all make me feel a bit dizzy.

What are you planning to plant?

We have some tomatoes, courgettes, squash, more courgettes and aubergines which have all sprouted. Hopefully we get a decent harvest from those and whatever my mum has at her allotment.

Have been enjoying the garden a lot since we got the artificial grass down, it feels slightly wrong in a way but we have used it everyday where it hasn’t been chucking it down in the afternoon, so I am very grateful for it and the work that went into getting everything sorted for it.

we have artificial grass in our back garden and while part of me hates it, it’s amazing for the kids and just makes being outside loads so much more practical.

Potatoes, carrots, peppers, onions, beetroot, brocolli and marrows.

Theres another veg area still to be tidied up.

Exactly this, so practical in so many ways it makes you forgive the fakeness.

I’ve often thought about getting artificial grass, as we’ve only got a small grassy area. But im going to just reseed and de moss it. If i fail, it’ll be artificial next year.

Good selection. We have carrots to plant too actually, need to get them in soon though I think.

Planning on a soft fruits area too.

I’ve built/repaired the raised beds.

Now the fun bit of planting can begin.

I’ve been out for a couple of hours already and the side bit is starting to look good. The veg is down,

I’ll update about the back bit later, if anyone is still interested.

Start by clearing it all out :man_shrugging: that will take time/effort

Then measure it all out and create a plan.

What direction does it face? How much sun/rain does it get?

Actually here you go.

The next thing to do is to revive these half dead/weeded fruit plants.

The rhubarbs going crazy,

Which way the sun rises/sets…
Does it get sun in the morning, afternoon, all day, barely ever?

Deffo clear all ththe stuff out, the space will seem bigger and you may end up wanting to sit where rubble is because it gets more sun or something.

Then budget. Things can get expensive quick… so prioritise things. Plus loads of lovely gardeners like sharing plants and old pots and stuff.

Are you quite a handy person/good with tools? Know someone who is?

I reckon that will look great as a courtyard style garden once you’ve got it cleared out. Just clear it first and then you’ll start getting some ideas.

Best bit of our back garden is the Wisteria

Been sorting out the front garden a bit. Bit of a wasted space.

Thinking of just putting down the same liner stuff and then blue slate bits on top…but cba to sift through what’s already on there and reckon I’ll just put liner over all of it again. Should be ok…absolutely hacked those bushes to pieces though…
Excited to put up the obnoxious sized trellis at the back tmrw to spite our thoughtless neighbour

our grass is full of dandelions and moss, in fact the only bit of grass that’s growing well is a bit of turf I put over an old unused flowerbed last year. How do I best kill all the dandelions and moss without killing the grass? I read something that said to pour vinegar over the weeds mid-autumn… but it looks terrible now!

Lots of raking (when its dry) will get most of the moss up.
