I like poached eggs but remember trying the vortex thing ages back and ruining a load of good eggs. Never tried it since.

Poached eggs are a bit naff though, scrambled is where it’s at.

Scrambled>>>>>>>>>fried>poached>>>>hard boiled

here we go

I’ve never made them. I consider them to be the Toriest form of egg

Not getting into any elitest egg war here, but need to point out that a fried egg sandwich is one of life’s greatest pleasures.

Thank you and good day.

The fuck you talking about Shakespeare?

I made a fried egg for the first time in… possibly ever actually, it was to go on top of one of those linda mccartney vegetarian burgers

Get the ol’ whirlpool going, chuck the eggs in, give em a few minutes, remove with slotted spoon.

The only issue I have with eggs of all varieties, is the whole when do I start the toast dilemma.

I don’t want my toast done ages before the eggs, but I don’t want to have to frantically butter (and cut, if I’m having soldiers with my boiled egg) my toast before the eggs end up ruined.

I find it always works fine to try and time the toast to finish shortly before the eggs are done. Then if the eggs are a bit late it’s okay, and if they’re done on time I can turn the toaster back on for just 20/30 seconds and cancel it before the toast is too done.

I heard some professional chefs poach there eggs by using cling film in boiling water. I imagine it may not be good for you but you wudn’t know unless you had seen them poaching.

i always thought cooking fried eggs was deceptively difficult

turns out i was using a shit pan. my new non-stick ceramic bad boy makes fried eggs a dream come true!!

Yeah boi.

Some nice tekkers for you - do it in a decent pan with a lid. Crack the eggs in and get them frying. Then get the lid and put a fair few drops of water on the inside of it. Swirl it around a little then put the lid on the pan. This helps to seal the egg on the top and produces a better result.

Also I know you’re not supposed to because smoking points and all that but I always fry my eggs in extra-virgin olive oil. Bit naughty.

Had a super marinated ramen egg with my noodles last night.

+1 for sticking a small lid over the egg while it cooks

Microwave.

Crack egg into half a mug of just boiled water.

Stick in microwave for 60 seconds, checking every 20 secs if you want.

Bingo.
