What day of the week do you like to get new episodes of weekly podcasts on?
I’ve noticed loads of weekly podcasts come out on Thursdays but with season 3 of Drowned in Sound podcast, I’m thinking Sundays, which seem less crowded, so that it’s there for doing chores, a walk, or your Monday commute makes sense.
Thoughts? Suggestions?
Serious answer: I don’t care personally. I will listen to what I listen to. Most of the podcasts I regularly listen to seem to release either first thing Monday morning or Thursday or Friday. Almost nothing for the rest of the week. Despite this, it makes no difference to my listening habits with them.
I have no clue what day most podcasts I listen to come out!
Release days I think are only relevant for something that is hyper-topical. Like, news or politics based podcasts I’ll pay a bit more attention to this stuff with, but purely for that reason, and I’d rather not have to. The joy of podasts for me is just dipping in and out of whatever whenever.
Yeah I’ll just listen at my convenience, not bothered what day it comes out. Tuesday seems to be popular with podcasts I listen to for some reason though.
If I didn’t post here, I would bet a lot of money on not one person alive caring what day podcasts came out on.
I’ve been told I should consistently release on the same day each week, so people can begin to form a habit but I’m like most of you, I don’t really notice which day most of my favourites come out (apart from maybe Offline, which I know is every Sunday morning)
One thing I have noticed however is that if I have an hour on a walk and there are tonnes of new ones, I might skip over some pods I’ve not got into the habit of listening to if the title doesn’t suck me in, and if they come out the same time every week I can go weeks and weeks without listening. But I pretty much listen to a couple of hours of podcasts or YouTube videos most days
Never notice which days they come out on unless they’re a big favourite. Don’t think it matters too much but most of the ones I subscribe to come out on Tuesdays and that’s quite annoying.
They announced on this week’s episode that they’re moving to Thursdays 
i think i ended up missing much of the last season you put out because it all came out in one go i think? if you released them on a regular basis id defo be more likely to listen
They came out weekly but then I was advised to change the titles which made them all republish which was mega annoying
I’ve done with Sunday, and written it in a newsletter so we’re not going back
