Very annoying when you try to add a record to Discogs and there’s not yet a record for it. I’m not doing that admin.

Super easy on RYM but yeah on Discogs it’s a real pain. I’ve added two at most in the 10-15 I’ve been on there. Over a thousand adds & edits combined on RYM.

Dunno, I once tried to add an album to RYM using the info of the CD in front of me, a moderator messaged me to reject the artwork I uploaded, because I had picked that the CD was a digipak and used the artwork from Bandcamp only to be told that because the digital artwork is square and a digipak is very very slightly rectangular it didn’t count as the correct artwork.
Put me off ever adding anything else. Bunch of pricks.
Yeah I learned my lesson quickly with image uploads for digipaks. Now hate when someone chooses CD as the primary release format for any album, as there are more and more digipaks, and it’s near impossible to find the right image to submit. I always choose digital or vinyl as primary formats, but there are times I’m trying to upload an image for someone else’s entry and if it happens to be digipak, ughhhh.
Also I can appreciate submitting database entries on any site can seem complex until one is used to it. The RYM page is poorly designed and overwhelming, but I still found the Discogs process more frustrating and less straightforward.
