It’s a solid album. I’ve been digging it a lot. As for Tortoise I’ve only listened to their first four albums.
I would say that Tortoise’s more recent output is more of the vein of contemporary bands like Battles or Holy Fuck (whom I both adore); their sound is much more electronic and frenetic. I don’t think they’ve put out a bad record.
All wintery albums except Woods.
Never listened to either, will give a listen though. I really love Tortoise though.
