Hi all

This is very touching however I don’t want any to a) risk any money pressing up merch, as the chance of making a loss is high b) make tees where a firm makes more than DiS c) support any companies whose business model often supports abuse of copyright to make unofficial products d) obviously loadsa issues with cheap labour with merch in the UK and around the world at the moment, and I can’t afford DiS to get into hot water for unethical practices when the return may be quite small.

As for the raffle, I’m off work next week and once I don’t feel totally exhausted and fatigued I will start asking labels and artists for items to include. I’ll then likely need to do some marketing campaigns to get fanbases involved in the raffles.

Need to think it all through with a clear head but sorry for being discouraging. I’m just aware how skint everyone is and how hard it is to make a profit out of merch (we sold about 20 tees in 2 years of having a print on demand TShirt store)

Think these people should buy the last lot of DiS t-shirts if Sean has any left.

Sadly they were only print on demand.

If there is, I will

T-shirt thing was just an idea, I’ll abandon that one :+1:

I’m happy to help again. I’ve not been on DiS much lately as work has been crazy. But it should be calming down.

Only if you’ve got the time, I guess a lot of stuff could just be adapted from the last raffle?

Its fine, that form didn’t take anytime at all. And I think I can reuse the database from last time.

I think I used up my best music donation on the last raffle. Will have to think if there is anything else I’ve got squirreled away that would be desirable or if there is anything I can make

I’m thinking something along the lines of ā€œMr Sausageā€

:smiling_face_with_three_hearts: I love it very much. Got to have a little admire of it when unboxing all my CDs the other day.

Got a couple of music related books I was thinking of putting up for the next raffle anyway. Was also thinking of a bandcamp e-voucher

I can donate the actual Celebrations tin used as a kick drum in the debut Dwigt Rortugal single. After I’ve finished the banana bread that’s currently in it and given it a wash.

if it’s just not suitable then fair enough of course, but I think a combo of most users being older and maybe having more money (just in the sense that there’s not many 20 year old students here any more) and knowing how important it could be to the site might generate some real interest, compared to before when a tee might have seemed like a luxury purchase

just my pov (and your points about the type of firms stands regardless)

Maybe if I could come up sith a good design I could get a couple of tshirts and hand paint them for prizes

Ngl, having massive worries about how I can do this having realised how much the usual raffle system relies on a) entrants having a DiS username and b) people trusting me.

maybe we could organise a standard board raffle among ourselves, and then if sean wants to get the ball rolling on a bigger more public raffle with labels and marketing people involved in addition to that then whoever wants to volunteer to help with that can do so as well?
