Sure, but Trump is exceptional too. Anyway, my point was only that if he were to get phenomenally unpopular then they could back a different person for President. Impeachment is a MASSIVE deal and I don’t think a party has ever impeached its own President. Trump isn’t a party candidate at all, he’s just the one they grabbed because he had the momentum but they will definitely be scrutinising this hard. Not that I can see them picking The Rock or whatever but then again, I guess it would depend on where the Dems are going.

given that no US President has ever successfully been impeached then I’d say the odds of either scenario are the same - ie zero

the only things that are going to stop Trump running in 2020 are either his standing down or his being dead/unfit for office on health grounds

Maybe the Presidency is just going to be between actors and reality tv stars from now on. Get people involved in politics by making it literally like a reality tv show.
