That said, if the Dems take back control of the houses or whatever in the midterms I guess they would have the ability to do it.

given that no US President has ever successfully been impeached then I’d say the odds of either scenario are the same - ie zero
the only things that are going to stop Trump running in 2020 are either his standing down or his being dead/unfit for office on health grounds
Maybe the Presidency is just going to be between actors and reality tv stars from now on. Get people involved in politics by making it literally like a reality tv show.
