How?

You have preferential/speedy access. I think there’s just a separate queue for VIP wankers (can’t remember exactly how it works for some reason).

I’ve been a VIP wanker for the past few years and I have never noticed that…

You can often go down around 4 and get a ticket from a booth for about 1 euro. This allows you to skip the queue like the VIPs. They should announce beforehand if they’re doing that.

Spoiler?

Hmm bit of confusing information here. Big acts in the auditorium usually need a ticket - I have got tickets for Sufjan, Jeff Mangum and Panda Bear before and I think you would have struggled to get in without one. I think The Magnetoc Fields will need tickets, although never know as they’re playing two nights. Either way, better to just get one when you arrive as even if you don’t need in either it will avoid hanging around unsure in the standby line.

I don’t think I’ve purchased tickets for the Auditori ever (as well as VIP)

Did you get into Sufjan?

In 6 years, Sufjan is the only event I needed a ticket for. And it was made very clear that the tickets would be drawn by lot in advance and you wouldn’t get in otherwise.

Otherwise just getting there early and queuing up was fine.

That Sufjan show is probably the best thing I’ve seen at Primavera.

Probably the best thing I’ve been to EVER. Still disappointed there’s no official live recording as, IMHO, it was far better suited to that format than Carrie and Lowell. Transformed Age of Adz for me.

Wait, you have to pay anything to enter the Auditori?

No. Sometimes you can buy tickets when the doors open for 1 euro to get guaranteed access (the purpose being to prevent people getting them and then not showing up). They are not necessary to enter.

Every time that I’ve been in the auditori since then, I’ve been disappointed by the lack of angel wings and balloons. The Kamasi show last year is the only thing that has come close, and not even that close.

Kamasi was great. Sitting on stage with Jeff Mangum was great. But NOTHING compares to that Sufjan extravaganza. First night of my first Primavera and my favourite ever gig. That bit of magic is one of the things that has kept me coming back

I went on the Friday. I guess both nights were amazing then.

My first Auditori experience was Vic Chesnutt followed by The Czars back in 2005. Not a fan of Sufjan so I didn’t see 'im.

Low , Nils Frahm and Winged Victory were all great in the audiotori

Saw Suede do Night Thoughts in the Auditori last year. I’d got one of those 1 euro tickets earlier, got there just as they were starting, and because of that was able to go straight in. There was a pretty big queue if you didn’t have one, so I thought it was a euro well spent.
