I would normally agree but, Live Nation put in an investor call that the next time they will be able to hold at capacity events is Fall 2021and they put out that news over the weekend.

Oh yeah? That sounds ominous. I dunno I think if we’re all having even small-scale gatherings that time next year we’ll be happy/grateful enough that we won’t miss the festivals

I’m unsure if next year will go ahead but I’ll keep my ticket (and roll over to 2022 if it comes to that). I’ve booked a cheap hotel for 2021 with free cancellation and no upfront payment just in case it does go ahead. Definitely not booking flights until it’s 100% clear whether it’s going ahead or not.

Everyone out on their doorstep to clap and/or sing a Vera Lynn song for Calais at 8pm please.

Wonder how they’re taking this news

I was only gently taking the piss too. If they genuinely don’t work for primavera they must be totally gutted. Feel bad for anyone pinning so much hope on stuff right now.

  • Hold out for flights to be cancelled and refunded
  • Cash in on the voucher they’re currently offering

When it gets to the week of the flight you will have the option to refund. Hold your nerve.

S/he frequents the efestivals forum and seemed resigned to the cancellation a couple of weeks ago, like a lot of the die-hards knocking around on forums and social media.

Do sort of feel a bit sorry for everyone who puts so much emotional attachment to a festival like this because for a lot of people it’s their one big thing a year - I was certainly looking forward to going again. But there does come a point where you have to be like: however good the weekend is, it’s a big business and defending them to the point of delusion is ultimately a bit unhealthy.

he’s probably in the efestivals thread

We were considering rearranging the flights to something in Winter 2021 so we had something to look forward to but there’s no guarantee Easyjet will still be flying the route we want (or any routes at all) by then. Will take the money asap.

Yeah I’m the same with Green Man. It’s mine and my wife’s holiday for the year, essentially. But knew straight away that the chances of anything going ahead this year were slim and adjusted accordingly. Disappointing obvs, but there are bigger things to worry about than if a festival goes ahead or not.

Take the money. They’re absolute bastards though. They put it somewhere in the small print that you can have a refund so most people don’t realise, then you have to fill in a form (which you don’t have to for the voucher), having been warned that it could take months and you really should take the voucher. Then a month or so later they’ll message you saying it’ll still take some months to process, but you can swap for a voucher any time!

Poor Gabi, he’ll have wait another few months to get his swimming pool gold-plated

Just been offered a credit voucher for my flights. Is the general consensus that I should hold out for a full refund further down the line?

Yes, most airlines cancel on a week by week basis and once they cancel (if it’s not already) that have to offer a refund.

Yep, hold on for now & you’ll almost certainly get full refund. It’s not official yet, but Spanish Govt yesterday all but confirmed that their borders wouldn’t open until July 1st… so your airline will have to cancel & refund your Prima flights

Okay thank you @roastthemonaspit and @ToTheBirds!!

I also got offered a credit voucher from Vueling today and am certainly going to hold out for a refund.

Those receiving vouchers, have your flights been cancelled?

BA cancelled a couple of days ago and sent some elongated bollocks process, presumably to deter us seeking a refund.
