Yeah, there definitely seems like there’s a lot of people wanting to have something in the diary to look forward to, but not sure if those will be offset with people holding back on booking to see how things go with the virus.

I’ve had a lot of criticisms of Primavera as a business but absolute fair play for going balls to the wall and getting the lineup done so soon. Think it’s definitely going to work in their favour (if it doesn’t get cancelled again LOL).

I’m going to book now and just 1. book it on credit card, 2. pay a few quid extra for ticket insurance. Not going to sort out anything else for now.

As for the virus, I don’t know if things will be… back to normal by next summer, but I’m wondering if further lockdowns etc. will happen with future peaks. It’s sad but there’s only so much of a bill governments will foot. At some point, for better or worse, they’re going to start running it hot due to economic pressure, and I think they probably will be by next summer. There’s going to be an awful lot of pressure to allow things like the Euros and Olympics to go ahead, and by that extension, all other big events too.

That’s just my gut feeling, and I’d still obviously recommend anyone buying tickets/flights/hotels to protect themselves as much as possible, and not to be rushed into buying tickets if they want to wait and see. There’s also going to be a line between what’s allowed next summer, and what people are comfortable with…

Yeah, that’s really disappointing isn’t it. Anyone done the count to see if it is at least 50/50 for the rest of the line up? Really lame if they have backtracked on that promise already.

Looks more or less 50/50 to me

Yeah they seem to have made up for it in the undercard. I guess it’s just a case of no major female headliners around next year. Disappointing, but Charli XCX/Twigs/Doja Cat/Jorja Smith are all pretty prominent and might rise to headliner level in future.

Absolutely massive at the moment, isn’t she. Could be one of the biggest draws on the line up by next year.

I’ve massively thought this since the 3rd week of lockdown particularly if the vaccine doesn’t work. There was a point were I though they might try it this summer.

Jesus Christ, there’s not a single day of this that doesn’t look fucking unbelievable. Argh - I’d give ANYTHING to be back to normal now and attending something like this. 100% in for 2021.

Dunno why they’re not on the poster but Pile told me on twitter today that they’ve been rebooked for next year, so that’s nice.

They’ve just warned that full festival tickets are running low.

Presumably that includes tickets they haven’t refunded yet

Yeah I’m guessing there’ll be extra batches put on sale in August once refunds go through.

Even if it does sell out I don’t think I’ve ever known a year where there hasn’t been tonnes available on resale sites. Particularly for a festival a year in advance, people’s plans are going to change considerably.

SOLD OUT! supposedly

Friday tickets supposedly sold out. They are using the Dice waiting list for allocating more tickets (the refunds).

I asked Prima about the people who have purchased redtxt getting refunds as it’s a different system to Dice. No answer.

Seems odd that it’s sold out. Have they approximated the number of anticipated refunds and gone ahead and sold them ? Or is the Waiting List on DICE for the anticipated refunds and it was very close to selling out anyway ?

That’s what the festival have said, but could they just be selling on a reduced capacity altogether, keeping an eye on what’s happening with big events and then flogging a bunch later in the year/next year when things are a bit more understood with the virus? Maybe they’ve just sold enough of this first load to break even or something?

My feeling is that they probably haven’t issued many refunds yet, have sold the excess tickets left over from last year (which probably isn’t that many), and hope doing it this way will persuade people to hold onto their tickets rather than ask for refund since it appears (artificially) as if it would be hard to get hold of another.

I certainly wouldn’t worry if you want to go next year and haven’t bought a ticket yet. Though I do think demand will be high, and anecdotally almost everyone I know who’s ever been is considering going next year.
