Primavera Sound 2026 - Barcelona June 4-6

Yep this, don’t think I ever got public transport back from the festival the three times I went.

Another vote for Davidoff Cool Local Taxi here.

I stayed in Matosinhos itself both times I went and it was lovely. Nice view of the festival from our apartment the first time. Moved into the city itself for a couple of nights afterwards to do Porto stuff.

But yeah, it’s no hassle getting there or back from the city.

Having done both, Porto is an absolute piece of piss to go home from - but - whilst it used to be really easy cab wise, there anecdotally has been a large increase in fraudulent drivers and the odd price gouging; for eg the most I’ve ever paid in all editions to get home is 16 euro, but Lana night a guy cost us 35, and that was with me calling him out on going to the wrong ways cos I knew the city, he easily couldve racked up a huge fare

But that’s also cos I earn enough to lean into cabs. The bus system is the most comprehensive, affordable and reliable transport set up of any festival in any country I’ve ever been to

Found that the traffic was absolutely awful the way the buses went though (along the river and the coast) and that the buses were always boiling. Half our group got the bus the first day and were beaten there by the Ubers, which also ended up being cheaper (felt like nearly every Portuguese Uber was a 7 seat Dacia so it ended up being like 2 Euro per person).

Sorry, I was talking about getting home. When I haven’t been in Matosinhos I’ve always got the metro or a cab there

Porto Ubers are ridiculously cheap. 12 Euro from the centre of town to the airport (two years ago).

Ciutat schedule and ticket info is out

Not enjoying some of the decisions to make here depending on availability.

Thinking

Monday - jasmine.4.T & Sorry, although would’ve liked to have seen Joanne Robertson
Tuesday - billy woods & Blood Orange is winning out over bar Italia and Yves Tumor
Wednesday - not sure Mogwai will be good for the ears, could go for that melt banana, model/actriz and Hannah diamond run
Sunday - no idea between Cass McCombs or Empress Of

For anyone still considering last minute going to Barcelona, I have had 2 friends sign up for the waiting list, receive an email within 5 minutes and buy a ticket via AccessTicket.

I am hoping for the Bar Italia night - yet to see them…and Salvana earlier on sound right up my street - dense shoegaze and looking forward to checking out their ouvre in advance of the show…also will be nice to see a local act …
