Royal related but I’ve just found out what Charles said to Camilla about being a tampon and it is something, isn’t it? The whole conversation was a lot.
I don’t think it’s right to hack phones or leak conversations (looking at you, Morgan) and I’m not one for kink shaming or whatever but…

When he was at military college. We’re the same age, and it was near my university.

My housemate used to dj, and Harry would sometimes come to two of the places where he worked, on nights out with the army boys. They were easy to spot, because the college made them all wear plain black trousers and a blue shirt in their spare time. It was a completely unnoticeable outfit on one person, but on a whole group wearing the same thing you could spot them a mile off.

He was friendly enough the one time I met him, and I had a brief conversation with him. I didn’t mention that I knew who he was, and he seemed to prefer that. He just wanted to go out with his friends like a normal person.

He would ask my housemate for requests, and they’d always be something completely inappropriate for the genre of whichever night, like 18-30s Ibiza lads night cheese, but he’d cheerfully accept no.

I know someone who ended up working for the Sun and the Mail; they just have the most money, pay on time, more security, less freelancers, etc. Think getting a stable job at the Guardian or the Independent is like trying to get famous on YouTube

I don’t think you can really call yourself a leftist after that though, if you actively choose to work at one of the biggest drivers of bigotry and reactionary politics. A faustian bargain for their career.

This is a cool story. Much better than mine meeting Charles when he came to our school. We had been playing tennis and he asked if we had grass or clay courts. No mate, tarmac I’m afraid.

Do we even want to ask?

I mean, just google the key words and you’ll find it. Apparently they won’t be including it in The Crown.

My only other royal story:

My nan used to work at the company that makes the queen’s suits. She really does bulk buy them. She couldn’t give a shit about fashion, so picks a couple of outfits and gets them made in loads of different colours. (My nan never met her, she was doing sewing there)

Work laptop so no chance.

Yeah I have a (very talented, much more so than me) friend who’s more or less spent his career trying to get a job at the Guardian. He turned 40 last year so that ship has probably sailed. The closest he got is having a semi-regular column but he told me a few years ago that they reject as many of his pitches as they accept.

the single weirdest attempt at sexy talk ever, crack up every time i think about it

I’ve just read the transcript. Thanks to Kerms for sending it to me. Don’t think I’ll ever be the same again If I’m honest.

All he has to do, is make Adrian Chiles mysteriously disappear, and then romance the editor.

Fool-proof plan.

started reading the book ‘people’s history of the world’ (I think the title) covers this kind of stuff, shows how things changed over time, early humans were quite egalitarian, as things advanced and some people got more then others status was attained by sharing not accumulating, it was when technology advanced to the point where there were large surpluses that society split into classes and different groups tried to justify a greater share of the fruits of everyone’s labour and ruined it forever

My dad met Prince Philip a few years back, who saw his tie and said ‘Are you an architect?’

Dad: ‘No, I’m actually a musician.’

Big Racist Phil: ‘Oh. Well that looks like the sort of tie an architect would wear.’ [walks off]
