Interesting, I went to Brands Hatch around 1991 and saw a large silver Mercedes parked in the paddock with the registration PEN 1S (or it could have been a 5), wonder if it was the same guy? I remember thinking it was possibly quite a good self-deprecating joke.
Ah, now I’ve seen this post it was almost definitely the same car as it was a charity motorbike racing day and Steve Parrish was very likely to have been there.
Wonder if UWOTM8 is available
Only £644? Bargain!
Gave some serious consideration a few year back when I had more money than sense to buying my nicknames equivalent of LAE10FEY but then I realised that would be a silly thing to do.

That 5 is wrong.
Does anyone actually understand how UK registration numbers work these days? No, nobody does. Markcee will pretend he does but he doesn’t.
What, so you can tell what year it is from or where it was registered?
If it is the former then everyone other than simpletons. If the latter then pretty much no one.
the former
it goes 17 in some month then 67 in september? but in the first decade of the willenium it was 07 and 57?
NOBODY understands that. Not even NASA.
I did the crossing on Thursday.
In March you get the normal year and in September you get the second half of the year which started with a 5 in the 00s, 6 in the 10s, 7 in the 20s, 8 in the 30s, 9 in the 40s. Then they will need a rethink.
why did they need to switch to two changes a year?
