Herrada? Disappointing third I’m afraid.

Anyway, back to modern times

Seb Kuss had a storming ride today. Roglic had a great day because of him. Valverde’s initial attack was decent, but MAL is a much stronger climber and that was a great attack. Shame his TT is shite though. Pogacar will have a big future.

Madrazo must’ve put some big effort in to get back on the final time, then climb away from Bol and Herrada. Great win, especially for a small Spanish team. Jetse Bol is a horrendous looking climber.

Tomorrow is a Valverde day if I’ve seen one. Already a decent race.

the dress watch!

getting back into cycling are you, rich?

Had an evening to myself, so watched some highlights. May watch a few more 🤷

Christ, I’d forgotten how shit the production of the Vuelta highlights is compared with the Tour’s on ITV4

I tend to just go back to the last hour (or more if I’ve got time) of live Eurosport coverage and watch that.

But yeah, ITV cycling highlights programmes are surprisingly decent compared to most of their other sport coverage.

Probably gonna get Eurosport player for next year if I can find it cheap, and casually watch some more. But tbh, I really haven’t missed it that much. Reading reports on cyclingtips has been enough

Find I enjoy it much more now I don’t bother with the majority of the week long stage races (although I do still watch ATOC and a couple of largely Spilak-based others). Classics - GTs - World Champs - DONE.

Although I fear I’m getting sucked into cyclocross…

I’d choose:

  • All the Spring Classics and semi classics
  • Catalunya
  • Basque
  • Giro
  • ToC (for that sweet late night viewing)
  • TdF
  • San Sebastian
  • Vuelta
  • Worlds
  • Lombardy

Chuck in Tro Bro Leon, Schaal Sels, Paris - Tours and a couple of smaller races like and I’m alright I think.

Pretty much mine, but swapping out Catalunya for Suisse.

Never watch Basque for some reason either.

Suisse instead of Dauphine

Basque is just brutal. Many pros regard it as the toughest race on the calendar

Just realised why I never watch it - it’s right in the thick of the cobbled classics isn’t it. That’s all I want to watch in early-mid April tbh.
