I have retrospectively liked @anon3515918’s red card gif

Can’t believe I actually googled “Protomartyr red fruit” over this shit

Genuinely had no idea what you were on about, thought it might have been somehow pomegranate related.

New, mainly northern, dates:

26 - Ramsgate Music Hall, Ramsgate
28 - Picture House Social, Sheffield
29 - Trades Club, Hebden Bridge
30 - O2 Academy 2, Liverpool

Can they not play some proper towns where people actually live?

Cheers, grabbed some for Sheffield

I CANNOT believe they’re not playing ely!!!

No idea where that is, sounds rubbish

Rundown of places bands can play in the North West.

-Manchester/Salford; The gold standard, you can’t go wrong here.
-Leeds: Also good, know loads of people who live in Leeds (on purpose!), weekend trains back to Manchester until about 2am. Brudenell is the world’s best venue.
-Blackpool: everybody loves a trip to Blackpool. Can’t be going to loads there, but once every year or so a Blackpool gig is a great time.
-Liverpool: If you’re going to play the Philharmonic Hall then yes, otherwise no
-Hebden Bridge: absolutely not, I’m not travelling all the way out to your little enclave of gentrification (get the sense that’s what it’s about, never been)
-Lancaster: don’t try to get clever

The Trades Club in Hebden Bridge seems to do alright. Got Swervedriver, Shonen Knife and The Handsome Family upcoming too.

And Peter Hook & the Light, The Magic Numbers and Mr Scruff if you are into that sort of thing.

It also appears to be a socialist club.

Looks pretty good. You should go.

they got King Gizzard last month, an incongruous date in the middle of touring much bigger venues in London, Dublin, Manchester and Glasgow! don’t know how they do it.

have never been to Hebden Bridge but i passed it on the train last weekend and it looked v pretty in the snow.

The population is 4500. I mean you could add Todmorden and the surrounds and maybe get to 10,000 but I don’t know that that’s a viable pool to sell out a show (depending on the capacity) So it’s got to be the venue that draws them in I’d say.

People that live in Halifax go to hebden, so that takes the pool to more than 100,000

Saw these lads last month in a dive bar in Wellington that usually books black metal bands. Was a very good night, thanks DiS for bringing them to my attention. Now need to go into their back catalogue a bit more.

A nice 24th in Reading 25th in Leeds sized hole in those listing, please…

Like London, Glasgow and Birmingham, perhaps ?

04/05/2018 - Bristol, UK @ Thekla &
05/05/2018 - Leicester, UK @ Handmade Festival
06/05/2018 - Glasgow, UK @ Stag & Dagger Festival
08/05/2018 - Hull, UK @ Fruit &
09/05/2018 - Birmingham, UK @ Mama Roux’s &
10/05/2018 - London, UK @ Scala

Anyway, seeing them in Barcelona next month.

Hebden is lovely. It’s on the train line between Manchester and Leeds so I frequently go to gigs there (also my mum lives there).
