I usually just go to pubs my mates work at for cheap drinks/it’s nice being around pals tbh, couldn’t give a toss about ambience
Even the ones that seem fash from the outside. Fuck it a beer is a beer.

Think I’ve been here to meet some ATDs who live in Brighton when I was there once. Absolutely cracking pub.

Ah, the joy of an afternoon pint. A moment of solace away from the madding crowd. Bliss!

Also the Hope, was initally due to close about 10 years ago to be converted into flats. However, the locals took it over, and its a great place now.

I’'d genuinely tolerate moving back to London just to be closer to the Southampton Arms.

i like these, but really high chance of bumping into the wellies in pubs/london pride/rugger crowd.

There’s a pub I used to cycle to occasionally (The Noah’s Ark Inn, Lurgashall @profk. Was about 45km each way). Is on the edge of a village cricket pitch. Really nice place to get a pint

Unfortunately can’t find a good pic whilst the cricket is on

I went on a date in here once and it kind of annoyed me. The people not the date. Actually all of it.

I fell over in the Noah’s ark carrying my pint. My cycling shoes slipped on the stone floor. Down I went

That’s cheap!
We have a local Sam Smiths pub, and I think it’s about £1.70 a pint. And all Sam Smiths pubs have banned mobile phones. Not sure if that’s a good or bad thing…

Also big shout out to the Conti in Preston which is a wonderful, wonderful place to have a beer if the sun is out.

The trick is to go when it’s not full of other terrible people. Which can be tricky in North London, I’ll concede.

(I’ve always found it a really welcoming and nice place to be tbf: had lots of conversations with interesting folk in there which was a rarity in London for me. You may have just been unlucky.)
