Yeah, I’d definitely go! I also passed because it would have meant a babysitter and all that - just a bit of a hassle. We both went to see them ages ago at Brixton and it was such a fun night.
Really enjoyed tonight’s show… Made some of the older songs sound essential again and a good airing for the new album. Great production as well - they’ve put plenty into this tour.
Thought they were incredible. Seventh time seeing them across the decades and felt real life and energy in them this time around.
Just loved it.
Aaaah they were so good. Such a big warm hug of a band. Fourth time seeing them for me and possibly my favourite.
Really helped unlock some of the new material for me too. Hadn’t really been too keen on e.g. Tina and Farmer’s Market - but now I can’t wait to listen to them again today with a new appreciation.
Good old Glasgow…
This was a great watch. I don’t remember Andi Peters being that much of a arse. He was really f**king mean!
Lot of Dishes slander going on in here.
Just want it to be known that I was likely ENTIRELY responsible for it winning at the Dublin gig cos it’s my favourite Pulp song and I’d never heard them do it before so EXCUSE ME for voting with my throat during the crowd-o-meter bit.
I regret nothing.
(And no I haven’t been drinking)
Dishes is an excellent track and one of my favourites (and clearly the band’s too!) Was very happy to hear it in Bridlington when the reunion started.
My favourite Pulp song too. The guitar solo and everything after that is just absolute perfection.
It’s not hating or slander of this in particular, just a preference for the older stuff and I know I’d be fizzing with anger if I’d been at the gig
Had a listen to Dishes there and it doesn’t hit me like the older more keyboardy stuff, but that’s just me. Pretty sure I’m in the minority.
I’d have stormed out in protest if Glasgow chose Dishes over Seconds, frankly
Just listened to Seconds for the first time now. I would have/still voted for Dishes, but mainly because I love This is Hardcore so much.
It has resulted in me listening to Acrylic Afternoons for the first time in ages. Would be great to hear that song - so long as Jarvis can do those screams still.
They’re playing it as part of the set at the moment - sounds great. The only thing they’re playing he can’t quite sing properly is the line “funny how it all goes away” in Help the Aged - too high for him now apparently.
When they played the Radio 6 concert I did notice his yelps were far less frantic these days!
Went to Pulp on saturday at the (boiling) Co-op. Thought it was superb, band on great form, visuals amazing, and a ‘Disco 2000’ for the ages!
Was incredible wasn’t it. Genuinely one of the best gigs I’ve ever been to. Was beaming from start to finish!
Yeah, really good. New songs blended in really well, they’ve obv thought about the setlist to make it into a proper show. I was happy ‘Pink Glove’ got the nod for the fans choice, I was hoping it was either that or ‘Have you seen her Lately’ tbh!
