Pulp Reform (again)

They were amazing in Cardiff on the same tour. Lat mi ute decision to drop 70 on the ticket and one of the best nights of the last 5 years.

Little bit disappointed that F.E.E.L.I.N.G.C.A.L.L.E.D.L.O.V.E. didn’t make the cut for the live album. I guess without the visuals of Jarvis being maximum Jarvis and pulling every Jarvis move and shape it falls a little flat.

At least it’s got This Is Hardcore. It was absolutely glorious.

It was last minute for me too. Laying in bed the Saturday morning of the show and thinking why on earth hadn’t I got myself a ticket, snagged standing for face value and it was one of the best decisions I’d made!

Can’t believe I wasn’t going to go.

Great that O.U. has been rediscovered on this comeback. It might very well be my favourite Pulp song.

What the fucks going to with the mixing on the new live album? Jarvis’s Vocals way to high in the mix and there’s so much auto tune you’d think it was a Strokes album.

Were you listening to the strokes by mistake?

It’s staggeringly bad. I’m not exaggerating when I say it’s the worst live album I’ve ever heard. Which is such a shame because the shows were phenomenal.

You’re better off watching iPhone videos from the show on YouTube.

I need to listen to this now.

I listened to it this evening and enjoyed it but I’m probably easily pleased when it comes to Pulp. I just like their songs

This is a shame - the tracklisting is a little late Pulp heavy (which isn’t surprising) but was hoping to hear how some of my faves were sounding in 2025. Will give it a try, but then I’ve still got my recordings of Sound City and others from way back to stick on if these are rubbish.

It sounds.. fine to me? :person_shrugging: on Tidal anyway.

Did they ever shed any light on this? Was just thinking end of the road = could be their last gig? They have nothing booked after it.

full autotune performance

It’s just not very good is it. Tracklist is poor, Jarvis sounds like he’s struggling on some songs. Crowd is mixed way too loud. Back to my bootleg of Reading 2011 it is.

seeing them on friday, it didn’t seem like they were in a hurry to be touring again. not that they were against the idea, just feels unlikely. they were great btw! really really good, the new stuff sounds brilliant in a Sparks-y disco sort of way. good band imo!!
