Jeez. I just had a thought, there will be a guaranteed 6 (six) concacaf teams absolutely stinking up the 2026 World Cup with a further 2 spots up for grab via playoffs. God help us all.

Have not read the thread from yesterday so assuming everyone was very generous about Australia’s fantastic and well deserved win. Great atmosphere in the pub for it last night and with that squad, Christ what an achievement.

Think we should discount any WC threads started before, say, 8am, and ban whoever starts them for the duration of the tournament, or at least force them to support Denmark.

If Spain and Germany draw today and Japan win, Germany would effectively be out wouldn’t they? There would have to be what, an eight goal swing in the final set of games, no?

I’ve gone with them due to massive bias, but they do bear a strong resemblance to the xG champion Brighton team of a few years ago.
