The cassette version, btw, had all the b-sides on the flip side, while the CD release has a couple of extra (non-single) tracks.

I’ve got a Lynyrd Skynyrd 7" with Freebird on one side and Sweet Home Alabama on the other. I like to think of it as the Best Of Lynyrd Skynyrd.

Got the tape version. Some great stuff on that b-sides set. Possibly one of the great cassette greatest hits comps.

On triple vinyl, of course

The very best of Steely Dan. Gonna listen to it now actually

Buzzcocks - Singles Going Steady

I’m not sure I really need to listen to their albums. It stands as an essential piece of work by itself.

Yes. Decade is a rare example of truly negating the need to listen to the studio albums. Maybe that’s just me. A great album.

The newer Super Furries Best Of. 36 tracks and not a single track could have been cut. WHAT A BAND

Missing Simple Man

Full of bangers and under half an hour long

I have to disagree! The Mix is fantastic and I think a lot of thought went into it by Ralf Hutter. I’m pretty sure the sounds were produced on more modern (for 1991) digital synthesizers and sequencers resulting in a different sound. It really is worth listening to.

Cap’n Jazz - Analphabetapolothology

Pulp - Countdown 1992-1982

They’re hardly “hits” in the traditional sense, but this compilation is a superlative introduction to Pulp’s awkward, obtuse (and utterly magnificent) early period.

Meat Loaf - Hits Out Of Hell

Fucking incredible album, which can be further improved at home by deleting “Razor’s Edge” and adding “Surf’s Up” instead.

Iron Maiden - Somewhere Back In Time (Best of 1980-1989)

One can argue about the song selection (no Where Eagles Dare? Heresy) till the cows come home, but it’s still full of absolute belters.

Underworld - 1992-2002

So many classic tracks, all presented in their wonderful uncut 10-minute plus glory. Disc 1( Bigmouth - Dirty - Mmm Skyscraper (I Love You) - Rez - Spikee - Dirty Epic - Dark & Long (Long Train)) might be one of the greatest compiled CDs in history.
