Is this the one with the solo piano videotape on? I must have watched that performance 100 times, absolutely staggering. It’s the only blot on In Rainbows for me cause I just don’t think it needs the heavy handed arrangement.

I think it’s really, really poor. Doesn’t hold a candle to any other song on that session. If a band played that in Cork I’d be thinking it was shit, let alone if Radiohead themselves were playing it.

It should be shit but I’ve loved it since I first heard a live bootleg when I was 17. I was originally disappointed that they cleaned it up for the studio version but I guess that version has probably aged better?

You don’t notice it that much tbf. Jonny used to play the same little drumkit on Down is the New Up on the 2006 tour. Shame they didn’t keep playing that one live

Maquiladora from the Astoria 94 set is fantastic. A million times better than the recorded version.

I don’t know - he certainly has to strain more at the end of gigs. His lower range has developed really well though - think it’s Dawn Chorus on his last solo record that sounded particularly nice in this regard.
