I went out for the first time in 9 days. NINE DAYS. Cycled to Shoreham, they had some DJ playing on the river. People out and about but maintaining social distancing. Went for my first sea swim of the year and my arms are burnt :weary:

Fwiw, as hard a decision it would have been to make – reading that, everything you’ve said and done makes perfect sense from the position of someone not directly involved. Can’t have been easy in any case, and you’ve probably earned the wine!

I’m sure 7 wouldn’t do it because you have to account for multiple Shaq loss on the first waves of attack or engagement. So many Shaqs would be badly injured or debilitated that only 7 Shaqs wouldn’t be nearly enough. I’d say it would have to start with around 20 Shaqs to even have a chance and that would have to be in a fairly tightly enclosed area. Basically like 7 Shaqs forming a perimeter backed up by the remaining 13 Shaqs right behind forming the outer perimeter. That would give the best chance for containment and an immediate pile on after the first 3 or 4 Shaqs get badly injured trying contain or initiate. Even then 20 Shaqs wouldn’t an be automatic victory for them. And in an open large space with a bit of terrain, like a zoo enclosure, I’d say even 20 Shaqs would have no chance because of the speed a silverback could generate and its ability to move around the terrain. In conclusion, I’m absolutely sure it would take at least 20-25 Shaqs to have a chance in a space no bigger than 30 feet by 30 feet against a silverback gorilla.

Another would be for the Shaqs to just punch it till it’s KO’d

How many blows (punches) can a gorilla withstand ? I think that’s what we need to figure out. If a bunch of Shaqs bumrush the gorilla and start punching it, at, let’s say, a punch per 2 seconds, and there can probably be 5 Shaqs punching at the same time, that comes out to 5 punches per 2 seconds, or 150 punches per minute.

Assuming a new Shaq jumps in as soon as one Shaq is incapacitated, so the punching rate is constant, I don’t think the gorilla can take more than 2-3 minutes of punching at this rate.

So we’re looking at between 30 and 50 Shaqs, most of whom will die.

I feel so content and peaceful right now!

I made a delicious roast dinner (slow cooked lamb) with thick luscious gravy and feel like a proper adult. My best friend had gone AWOL for a month which is pretty unprecedented and I had a lot of issues with him from last year so have been working through that in therapy but he messaged me earlier and we had a catch up which was good and I want to move that friendship into being something more sustainable and healthy. And I’m going to surprise my housemate with belated birthday brownies as she finishes her exams tomorrow :blush:

Oh kermy this sounds so tough, I’m sorry you’ve had to go through this but you’ve done the right thing. It’s horrible that the carer had issues but your nanna’s wellbeing has to come first and she’s clearly so special to you, you need to have faith in the person caring for her otherwise you’ll never sleep. x

I’ve not watched any for months so I’ve forgotten who everyone is. I think the last one I saw had a tiger in it. Hopefully the tiger will be back. Oh I remember a nice bit where the main guy went to an old fashioned much loved bosses village to make a deal and it looked like a great place to live.
