Four Tet’s 0181 is a load of unreleased stuff from over the years mixed into one big track

while Randoms is some previously released compilation tracks compiled into a more traditional rarities album

A lifetime of temporary release is tremendous so another vote for that.

Dirty3 released an odds and sods of demos called ulterior motives which is nice. You can hear the phone ringing half through one song so the versions are quite rough - via mic rather through a mixing board i guess.

Yep. They were very keen to stress it was not a proper album. Was good in it’s own way

This Teenage Fanclub album sorta comes from the same place - had some studio time leftover, decided to indulge themselves a bit.

Haven’t heard it in ages but it’s pretty rough n ready. This is kinda cool
