There is something wrong with your induction hob.

Some friends of the family tore down their house and built a new house on the land and essentially they just built a mahoosive double height dream kitchen of about 70m2 with some bedrooms as a mezzanine afterthought

it’s quite nice

Oh no, nothing that impressive

Is it even a nook? Probably not.

looks sittable so yes

 I don’t think I could. Maybe for a small child or cat.

I don’t think it’s broken, I think it’s just shit, because

What brand?

Quite like ours (we chose everything so why wouldn’t I like it?) apart from the absurdly high cupboards. Enough storage, hidden bin, two windows and back door means loads of light, plenty of worktop space, nice ceramic sink (requires constant cleaning but way better than steel or whatever). Massive fridge/freezer combo. Lovely induction hob.

What appliance brands does everyone have?

I think the main plus for my kitchen is that all the appliances are from the same brand & line

we’re 100% Bosch

Lamona

If I ever need to find part of my kitchen I just look for whatever the cheapest option on Howdens is and it’s always that, because

It’s real small, but it’s functional. Gas hob, separate fridge and freezer. Only 3 cupboards which is fine I don’t need stuff, and no toaster but fuck it I’ve got a grill. Also being like 1 squared metre means I can clean it all in ten minutes, five really.

There’s your problem

Next time, go for Siemens.

I say this every time this topic comes up, but gas hobs are a major contributor to poor air quality in homes. Induction really is better.

One analysis found that children in homes with gas stoves have a 42% higher chance of having asthma symptoms. Another in Australia attributed 12.3% of all childhood asthma burden to gas stoves.

(Obviously old style electric ones are unusably shit)

Good. It’s 10 years old but the developer / previous owner spent a decent wedge on it so it’s good materials. Though our next door neighbour has granite tops, which we don’t have as our guys spunked their extras budget on really expensive fitted wardrobe doors.

Big enough that we now have my ikea butchers block in the centre for extra storage and counter space.

Bought a new fridge freezer a couple of months ago. Went for one that was a bit deeper, wider and higher than the old one so it’s massive.

We lose some space to the DDA compliant downstairs loo, which we’ll be taking out / shrinking down at some point. Though that will mean a new kitchen too, at which point we’ll basically end up remodelling the whole downstairs and putting a conservatory type thing on the back too. So £££.
