Reading festival watch a long iPlayer thread

Annual thread time.

Iffy weather this weekend so I’ll probably be watching a fair bit and there are a few things each day I’m hoping are on the stream

They’ve already stuck back up last year’s Little Simz, Dave, Wolf Alice Charli XCX and a few other sets BBC iPlayer - Radio 1 at Reading and Leeds Festival

I’m sort of tempted to try get a day ticket for Sunday. Does anyone know if the prices will likely be reduced on say Saturday night?

Don’t have iPlayer but I hope they upload some Rina and Muna to YouTube

Jedward are there on Sunday too?!

No fucking way

I cant find them on the poster but they’re on the website

Just checked the line up and real slim pickings for me this year. Desperately trying not to be a “back in my day” grump because I am blinded by nostalgia of attending in the 90s/00s (and their core audience has clearly changed), any recommendations on anything interesting that is worth checking out?

Not sure where the list of sets being live streamed are for whole weekend but just found this

I got a couple of day tickets for Saturday (Reading) for £50 each, the other day. There are loads of weekend ones going too, so by Sunday, they may be desperate.

I really hope they learn something from how badly it’s sold this year. The line up is even more “a few massive tracks/big on TikTok” than ever. They did miss a trick by not having Bicep headline one of the main stages, . It doesn’t feel right having them play in the daylight at this point, especially as they are about the only mainstream big dance act playing. I would be tempted to head down and watch them from the road in an hour, but it’s just too early.

Looks like The Snuts are on the bill. £5 well spent.

They’ve only ever streamed the two biggest stages, but since they slimmed down to two alternating stages, you don’t even get anything to choose from live, and the they’ve gone from 9 acts on the main stage, 12 on the Radio 1 stage, to 11 (now that someone dropped out) over the two main stages. Can’t be great for anything other than the organiser’s back pockets.

They’ve appear twice as Pretty Boys too, so probably have done most years. Pretty sure you can see us at some point in this video from the first year they played.

Sometimes wonder what happened to those people who’d go to Reading/Leeds and would camp in the same spot for years and years as a tradition

  • Long given up
  • Grimly holding on hoping Foo Fighters and RHCP will return
