Really n00by Excel question...

I’m trying to filter a massive spreadsheet of data by a particular field, but the filter doesn’t pick up the new rows of data i’ve added at the bottom.

Nothing i’ve tried will expand the range to include the new data. There are probably twelve year olds who know basic shite like this, but i’m not really a figures man.

Google’s not helping that much.

Your data might have been converted to a table, if so click on it, click on the design tab, then click convert to range (from memory).

Does it do it when you highlight the entire range before click the filter on and off in the data tab?

have you got any blank rows?

Try removing the filter, inserting a blank row between row one and two and then deleting it, then re-applying the filter
